Kerry Akashian serves as the Director of Technical Assistance & Global Programs where she develops needs-driven technical assistance and solutions-driven consultative support to global partners and staff.

Kerry comes to TCN with a wide range of experience in education and policy development, and her most recent role was at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education where she led workforce development initiatives for youth and hate crimes prevention efforts. Before that she directed the Public Service and Civic Engagement Academy where she supported hundreds of youth by connecting them with the workforce and developing cultural competencies. During the summers she taught at an orphanage in Kingston, Jamaica and learned more about supporting her students by visiting Cambodia and Vietnam. Kerry holds a Ph.D. from Lesley University that focused on emerging adults (ages 18-29) entering the workforce and life design programs that support their success. Kerry is a leader in women’s development and serves as a Commissioner on the Status of Women & Girls. She lives with her daughter in Boston.
