Parmis’ Circle of Bricks Project Provides Legos to Boston school kids
“I’ve always been a maker and loved making things with my hands and solving problems.”
Boston ABC affiliate WCVB 5 recently interviewed Clubhouse member Parmis Mokhtari-Dizaji. Parmis, now a high school sophomore, has been creating at The Clubhouse since she was 11. The interview highlights Parmis’ “Circle of Bricks” project. The mission of Circle of Bricks is “to raise funds to buy basic Lego sets for young students in need in the Boston area.”
Parmis is a lifelong lover of Legos, part of her love for making and building. “I’ve always been a maker and loved making things with my hands and solving problems,” she told WCVB. She identified the need for materials in schools to help spark creativity in young children. She says. “I noticed that there really were no fundraisers or charities addressing play and having fun and being creative.”
Parmis credits the staff, mentors, and community of The Flagship Clubhouse in Roxbury, MA with providing her the space to build and get creative.
