We are excited to share the launching of a new coding app to support creative learning on mobile phones and tablets, called OctoStudio.
OctoStudio makes it easy to create interactive animations, games, and more on mobile devices, anytime, anywhere. You can capture and save projects as videos or GIFs, and easily send them to friends or family.
OctoStudio is available for free in app stores for both iOS and Android phones and tablets, and currently includes translations in more than 20 languages.
Developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten at the MIT Media Lab, this project is the result of collaboration and iterative design with community-based educators all around the world, including many in the Clubhouse community – from sharing feedback on prototypes of the app to offering workshops with youth!
After installing, OctoStudio enables youth to create projects offline without the need for data or wifi. OctoStudio does not collect personal data, and does not track people who use it.
We look forward to seeing what our youth members make with this new creative tool!
