bookAcross the River, a book authored by one of our extraordinary teens named Jaquan Jackson, with contributions from the Best Buy Teen Tech Center team @ FBR, focuses on the critical issue of Redlining.

Jaquan spearheaded this project, with team collaboration on brainstorming, artwork, ensuring the material is packed with eye-opening info, engaging and easy to understand, and the physical creation of the book. A big thanks to the amazing staff, Dynez Dennis and Auria Criss, for guiding these young members every step of the way.

This PSA publication represents a significant effort to raise awareness and promote understanding of unjust redlining history and regional impact. “This isn’t your grandma’s history lesson,” says Jaquan. “It’s a deep dive into how redlining still affects communities today.” Here is an Instagram video with Jaquan discussing his book.
